I should really stop making random journals and attempt to keep it. I should honestly keep one and keep at it. It's a difficult task because I'm particularly flighty but it should prove one way to discipline myself to try and make a blog entry everyday, even a short one.

I guess one way to make things more interesting is to have at least one topic of discussion for every blog entry, so I can feel as though I'm writing about something rather than aimlessly doing so. So for today, it'll be 3DS time and talk about the system, the games I have, and the games I'm considering to get for it.

I got a 3DS as a birthday gift and have been playing it often enough that I hardly leave home without it. I tend to play it whenever I'm waiting for my turn for something and just generally trying not to be bored.

  1. Fire Emblem: Awakening
  2. Tales of the Abyss
  3. Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate
  4. Dr. Lautrec and the Forgotten Knights
  5. Style Savvy: Trendsetters
  6. Crimson Shroud
  7. Project X Zone

For the most part, I tend to play RPGs but I like having mindless games too, as a source of distraction and so I don't have to think. Of them all, I've spent the most time playing FE:A (I think I've clocked in over 300 hours now) and have completed it so many times I'm in the process of just completing the support log (which will take me at least 42 runthroughs in all, aaahhhh). Currently trying to figure out the ropes of MH3U, as it's not a genre I tend to play, trying not to panic in Dr. Lautrec (the policemen argh), and slowly mowing through Project X Zone.

  1. Pokemon X or Y
  2. Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies
  3. Bravely Default
  4. Castle Conqueror: Dark Age (Maybe)
  5. Shin Megami Tensei IV (Maybe)
  6. Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity (Maybe)

And of course I have a list of games I'll eventually be wanting. I listed both X and Y because my choice will largely depend on what version my friends will be getting as well as the version exclusives. I'm a huge fan of the Ace Attorney series that it's a no brainer for me to get AA5 and it saddens me that AAI2 wasn't translated. I love Square games too, and Bravely Default was supposed to be highly rated so I'd try my hand at that. As for the other three, those are just nice-to-haves and I'm still mulling over if I'll get them or not.

Given what I have and what I want, the 3DS is completely worthwhile for me. My general rule of thumb is to get the handheld system, or any for that matter, based on the number of games I'll be getting for it, whether currently released or about to (but definitely will) be released. I try not to hinge these decisions based on possible games because those have a higher margin of being cancelled (like Tales of Vesperia's English version bah).

Here's to hoping I get to post once a day now. Fingers crossed and wish me luck!
